I enjoyed discussing my plans to fix the mess in the office of Wayne County Executive during the AFSCME Council 25 candidate forum on Wednesday. I promised to work with labor and not balance the County’s multi-million dollar budget deficit on their backs.
We can do in Wayne County what we did in Westland: Balance the budget by working together, showing everybody the numbers, and finding solutions that are efficient for taxpayers and also fair for employees.
Thanks to Al Garrett, Council 25 president, and to all who attended the discussion at the union’s headquarters in downtown Detroit.
The Detroit Lions recently hired a new head coach. The Pistons are looking for a new one. I believe that Wayne County voters deserves a new Executive.
