The Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, representing business leaders across the metro Detroit area, has endorsed Bill Wild, Democratic Candidate for Wayne County Executive.
“Mayor Wild has proven in his tenure at the helm of Wayne County’s third-largest city that he has the right experience to bring Wayne County’s finances back in order,” said Terence Thomas, chairman of the Chamber PAC Board. “Mayor Wild took over a fiscally troubled city and balanced seven consecutive budgets while creating a rainy day fund with $5 million. We look forward to Mayor Wild using this experience as Wayne County Executive.”
“I’m honored to have the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce (DRCC) join the many people and organizations supporting our campaign for new leadership,” said Wild. “Mayor Bill Wild. “We’re working to bring business, labor and the 43 communities across Wayne County together to work on common goals. It’s going to take a team approach to balance our budget and still deliver top quality services to Wayne County residents and taxpayers. I’m ready to fix the fiscal problems, restore integrity, and get Wayne County working again.”
Wild, who has served as Mayor of Westland since 2007, has also been a small business owner in Wayne County for 25 years, owning an auto recycling business in Wayne. He is the only candidate in the race for Wayne County Executive with executive experience in both the public and private sector.
