Saturday was a busy day at Cobo Center in Detroit, with Youth Caucus and Women’s Caucus events leading up to the Michigan Democratic Party Jefferson-Jackson Dinner featuring President Bill Clinton, and a Church of God in Christ (COGIC) convention underway.

Team Wild was out in force! We had over 100 volunteers on hand, looking proud in our new Team Wild t-shirts. It was a great opportunity to share information with delegates and visitors about Bill Wild’s vision for new leadership in Wayne County: A balanced budget, open and honest government, and making public safety a top priority.

As voters are just getting to know candidates in the hotly-contested race for Wayne County Executive, this was a great chance to introduce the mayor at a high-visibility event. Funny thing though – none of the other campaigns had any volunteers or their candidate on hand.

Winning in August and November – will require teamwork, discipline, and a strong group of committed volunteers. This weekend, Team Wild showed that we’ve got what it takes. The other guys? Not so much.
